One of the main questions we are asked at Absolute Collagen HQ is what type of collagen we use.

There are so many different kinds of collagen, but there’s really only one that works: Type 1 marine collagen.

Why Type 1?

Our skin is made up of almost 70% Type 1 collagen, so it’s a key building block in providing our skin, nails, hair, organs and bones with the protein it needs to keep you healthy.

Type 1 collagen can be found in four main sources: fish, beef, pork and chicken. We only use marine collagen as it’s scientifically proven to work the best. It’s absorbed up to 1.5 times more efficiently than other types and it breaks down faster in the body. It does not contain any shellfish or crustaceans.

Plus, marine collagen is protected from diseases and viruses that can affect other animal products, such as Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (‘Mad Cow disease’), Foot and Mouth disease and bird viruses.

While chicken and pork collagen is cheaper, and can be found in many other supplements and cosmetics, marine collagen is the most sought after collagen on the market because it works.

Another reason that makes Absolute Collagen stand out is that we only use hydrolysed collagen. Hydrolysed collagen peptides have a lower molecular weight, which means that the body can absorb it better than other sources.

We also include Vitamin C in our supplements, as it’s a mandatory part of collagen synthesis and encourages the body to produce collagen on its own.

Absolute Collagen also contains no fillers, oils or binders.

Why Absolute Collagen?

Our supplements contain the most collagen in the smallest dose, plus it’s as affordable as a cup of coffee a day.

Just one sachet daily can transform your skin, nails and hair as well as look after your joints, muscles and organs. Our award winning sachets contain 8 grams of Type 1 marine collagen and 7.7 grams of protein. It’s manufactured in the UK under BRC accredited facilities.
